A Tale of Two Weekends!

December 2013

We had a very large storm in the beginning of the month and we had a fun weekend playing outside in the fresh snow!

Gage LOVED the snow!!

Brady pulled Gage around on the sled.

We found some small sledding hills across the street from our house.

Gage even tried his snowshoes for the first time...

... and he did AWESOME!  He loves his snowshoes!

Gibson and his friends played outside in the snow ALL DAY!

Even I got in on the action.  I was able to walk out my front door and go snowshoeing along the parkway.  Even though I HATE cold and snow, even I have to admit that it was a beautiful day!

And where was Caleb?  We asked him if he wanted to play outside in the snow, he said "NO".  He promptly turned on the fireplace and sat down on the couch.  He is definitely my child!

Then a few weekends later, we headed down to sunny St. George and enjoyed some "warmer" weather.  Unfortunately we were down there for Uncle Gene's funeral, but we made the best of it and enjoyed our family time together!

We fit in A LOT of swimming!!!

At the Tonaquint Cemetary for Uncle Gene's funeral.  The boys were very well behaved.

It was a very nice service and it was wonderful to see all the people who came who cared about Gene.

Gene's siblings: Joan, Barry, my dad and mom, LaRae and Kent.

Then we headed to Snow Canyon for some hiking!  Ever since we arrived in St. George, Caleb and Gage were asking to go hiking.  I think they remembered Snow Canyon from when we hiked there last year.

Gage and I!

Gibson scrambling up the hills!

Gage and Gibson!

Brady and Caleb!

Fun family pictures (we used the timer on the camera since we were the only people on the hike!)

Gage just took off up the hillside - he is definitely my budding hiker!

The boys' victory cheer after hiking to the top of the petrified sand dunes!

No trip to St. George is complete without a visit (or 2) to Irmitas!
The last time I took a picture of us all at Irmitas is the last picture I took of Uncle Gene.  We love and will miss you, Gene!

October 2012

Caleb started out the month by making a GIGANTIC mess with the baby powder.  I think there was at least an inch of it all around and in all the drawers of their changing table.  But this cute face made up for it!

We took our annual fall drive up to Preston, Idaho.  We had lunch at our favorite Mexican restaurant, El Tapatio (formally "The Taco Bus").

We stopped and visited with my great-aunt Anna.  She is just amazing!  She is in her 90s and blind, but lives on her own and gets along fine.  She has the best memory - she always remembers all of our names and my kid's ages!

Cute kitties enjoying the gorgeous fall weather!
LILY!

SQUEAKERS!

TWO!

The boys had a great time playing in the leaves!  I hope they got their fill because we probably won't have any leaves to rake next year in our new yard.

Super cute Gage!

Super Caleb!  (I like this picture because you can see our swim towels outside drying - that means it's still warm enough to go to the pool!)

My 3 handsome boys!

Yes - it is (mid) October and we are still going to the pool!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these warm autumns!

Pre-Disneyland (Las Vegas) September 2012

On our way to Disneyland, we stopped in Las Vegas for 2 days.  We stayed at a new resort (Alexis), which was touted as really nice and had family suites - we didn't like it at all.  Bleh.  Don't ever stay there!  But we did get some swimming in which was good since the temperature was in the 100s!!

Swimming!

As always, our summer was filled with lots and lots of swimming!  We had passes at three pools, so we always had somewhere fun to go!  Caleb and Gage are already such great swimmers and they love the pool. All winter, Caleb keeps asking to "go to the beach" (his term for swimming).  So obviously we can't wait for warm weather again!
