Remodel Update

So, although it doesn't always feel like it, we are making progress on the remodel. What started out as just a bathroom remodel, turned into a remodel of the entire upstairs (except the kitchen - which we did last summer). The nice part is that after this remodel is done, there will be NOTHING left to remodel inside the house!
We knocked out the wall between the 2 bathrooms and the living room and moved it out 30 inches. We'll have so much more space in the bathrooms now!

Looking into the old main bathroom.

A view of both bathrooms from the living room.

Yay - a new wall is emerging!

This was my upstairs for about a week and a half. We had plastic across the kitchen and the living room furniture in my kitchen. I'm glad this part is over!

Gibson is daddy's little helper, since I can't help with the painting right now.

All painted! (And note the beautiful textured ceiling - bye, bye popcorn crap!)

And the new wall is finished!

A BEAUTIFUL new living room! The old drapes are gone - replaced with wonderful honeycomb blinds. And the entire upstairs is now all painted the same color. The popcorn crap is gone from all the ceilings! The baby's room is ready to be furnished. Gibson's room and our room is ready to be moved back into (we've all been sleeping in the basement). Brady is the most awesome husband in the world!!

More Pics of the Boys!

We had another ultrasound today. Good news - they are both healthy and growing well. They are right on size for their due date and both weigh just a little under 2 lbs right now. Here are some pics of their cute faces! (They both have Gibson's nose - yay!)

Snorkeling!

Well, we finally got our 35 mm film back! So here are some pictures from our cruise when Brady and I went snorkeling:

PRINCESS CAYS
A HUGE jellyfish we spotted (rather close to the shore for my liking!)

A HUGE school of these little fish surrounded us and followed us all over.

I tried to steer clear of these fish - their snouts looked pokey!

A rock fish (hard to see - he disguises well!)

ROATAN, HONDURAS

The house is a MESS!

Nothing is ever simple. We are remodeling our 2 upstairs bathrooms (need the room for our expanding family!). Well, since we are going to have the drywall guy here, we thought we would finally get rid of all the popcorn crap on the ceilings once and for all. Easier said than done! We have all had to move our bedrooms downstairs. All 3 bedrooms upstairs have been completely emptied out and the furniture strewn throughout the rest of the house. Bleh! But it will be nice to finally have it done!
This is a picture of where Brady scraped the ceiling in the living room. You can see the contrast between a nice, clean ceiling and the popcorn crap!
Brady tore down the outside wall of the bathrooms. You can see right into our old master bathroom from the living room!

When we moved Gibson's bookcase out of his room, we found this! I thought it was a big pile of mold or something. Turns out that it was a dead bird! A few months ago, Brady said that Gibson's room stunk, but we could never find the source. This was it! Poor bird. I'm sure a cat dragged it in the house and it got behind the bookcase and it crawled underneath and died.

Happy 40th Anniversary, Mom & Dad!

Amazing - together 40 years! Wow! That must mean that I'M getting old!

For my parent's anniversary, the whole family got together at Courtney & Daryl's house. Here's Carter, Gibson & Lukas eating their dinner.

Here's my dad, Brookie, Lukas, Gibson, Carter & Daryl.
All of the kids with mom and dad.

A toast to our parents!

Silly Milo! He looks like he's trying to whistle! What a cutie!

We also celebrated Paige's 2nd birthday that night. I can't believe she's 2!

Lukas liked the dollhouse almost as much as Paige did!

Here's a great video of Milo laughing and giggling!

Rest in Peace, Russell

I feel so sad that Russell (my cousin) suffered so much. I know that he has finally found peace and happiness.

Our Caribbean Cruise - Mar/Feb 2010!

What an anticipated vacation! We always escape in February from the cold, dreary Utah winter. But this trip was extra special. With the twins on the way, we knew it would probably be our last "big" trip for a few years. I was finally over my morning sickness and very much looking forward to a warm, relaxing vacation! And it was everything we anticipated and wanted. We had a WONDERFUL time. Our ship, the Crown Princess, was the nicest ship we have ever been on. The food was wonderful and I (and everyone else) ate to our heart's content! The babies loved all the fresh fruit (especially the watermelon). The weather was perfect; we just had a fabulous time! Why does it have to end???

We always carry our bathing suits onto the ship in our hand luggage so we can immediately hit the pools and hottubs (it can take hours for your luggage to get delivered to your room). How wonderful it was to get into a bathing suit after months of winter!

Brady and I on formal night.
On formal night, they had a champagne waterfall and invited the ladies to come and help pour the champagne! Too bad I couldn't drink any of it!

Brady and Gibson swimming in the pool (1 of 6!). I was sitting on the deck watching a movie - there's a huge movie screen outdoors above the swimming pool. What a fun ship!

Gibson in the kid's area. It's about 10:00 at night and they were relaxing and watching a movie.
He absolutely LOVES the kid's area. They do so many fun activities: Pizza parties, crafts, pajama parties, face painting, Spongebob day, etc.

On a side note - we sailed out of Ft. Lauderdale - home of the Oasis of the Seas. It's the world's largest cruise ship that just set sail in December. It's HUGE!!!!!

Grand Cayman

Our first, and most favorite stop, was Grand Cayman. Next to Arches National Park, I think it is one of the most beautiful places on earth! There's nowhere else where the water is so blue and the sand so white. The sand is smooth and the beach is perfect! We went to the public beach area of 7-mile beach and just had a blast. It was SO hot that day and there was no wind. Even after religiously applying sunscreen all day, we all got really sunburned (it was Gibson's first).

The waves here are awesome to play in!

Gibson kept trying to build a sand castle - but the waves kept coming up higher and higher!

Gibson and I in paradise!

Playing in the ocean with dad!

Gibson loving life in the water! Look how beautiful it is!!!

Gibson and I playing in the ocean - riding the waves!

Gibson made a "sand angel"

Gibson and Brady dug a really deep hole - maybe if Gibson had stayed in there all day he wouldn't have gotten sunburned so bad!

Gibson posing with a pirate. There are a lot of fun stores in Grand Cayman - it's where we did most of our shopping on the trip.

Brady's not the best cameraman - but here's Gibson and I riding the waves! One minute you could touch bottom, and the next you were 4 feet higher! SO FUN!!!!

This video gives you a small idea of how much Gibson loves playing in the ocean!
