Yoga

A wonderful friend took these pictures of me doing yoga. I wanted them for 2 reasons: 1) To see what I actually look like in poses so I can see where I need to improve (and they helped a lot with that!) and 2) I think yoga is beautiful - it's like moving art. I see all the people in my yoga classes their beautiful poses and am just in awe.

Gibson's Christmas Program!

Gibson's class at school put on a Christmas Program this year as their present to us. It was really cute and they worked really hard on it. We were very proud of him! He was only one of a few students who wanted a speaking part. He did a great job!

Zoo Visit for Gibson's Birthday!

Gibson's birthday fell on a Wednesday this year. Brady always has the day off (Veteran's Day), so we let Gibson play hookey from school and we went to the zoo (the weather was still warm and fabulous!).

It was our best trip to the zoo, ever! I think because it wasn't scorching hot that a lot more of the animals were out and active. Plus, we got to see a lot of baby animals!
We saw the 2 black bear brothers wrestling - it was so cute!

These 2 penguins were being lovey with each other!

The baby giraffe!

The baby tiger cubs (2 of the 3)!

We saw a lot of animals that we had never seen before...
the cheetah!

The elusive wolf (I have NEVER seen the wolf before, although we always look for him!).

Me and my boy!

Gibson standing by the HUGE tortoise!

And of course - the star of the day: Zuri, the new baby elephant!

She was so cute playing with this stick. And then her mom came and took it from her and ATE IT! Zuri kept reaching up into her mom's mouth with her trunk looking for her stick!

My baby is 6 years old!

Gibson turned 6 years old on Wednesday - I can't believe it! He is such a sweet, smart boy. We are very proud of him and feel like the luckiest parents in the world to have him as our child!
Lily Lou wanted in on the gift action!

He managed to open everything in about 30 seconds flat!

His special ice cream cake from Cold Stone! Yummy! (There's a ton of leftovers - come over and have some!)

Grandma and Grandpa helped us eat cake!

Our wonderful, big boy!

A Fall Visit to Red Butte Gardens

We knew last weekend might be some of the last good weather of the season, so we headed up to Red Butte Gardens. We had a great time! It was beautiful (as always).
Whenever I think I've explored all the Gardens, I find something new. This time we took a path that took up straight up the foothills into the mountain. We had GORGEOUS views of the valley!
We found this old, abandoned house up on the mountainside.

From way up here, we could see out to the Great Salt Lake!

Brady and Gibson being goofy on the Moose statue!

I actually remembered to bring a quarter this time so Gibson could feed the fish!
