Donut Falls July 2011

We finally got 2 Keltys so we can all go hiking together!! We decided to go up to Donut Falls since it had been several years since we'd been there. The boys absolutely LOVED the hike! They just had a blast in their backpacks! I especially enjoyed Gage talking and singing in my ear the entire time! We had a lot of fun and can't wait to go hiking again!

We made it to the falls! It was 100+ degrees down in the valley, so the hike felt really nice! When we came down the last part and started hiking along the river, it felt like you were in an air-conditioned room!

Hi Caleb!!

Hi Gage!

What a good-looking hiker!

Snack time!

Happy First Birthday Caleb and Gage!

I thought this first year would be really hard. When I was pregnant and absolutely terrified at the thought of having twins, I would tell myself, "just get through that first year." But, although it has had its challenges and life has been a lot busier, this first year has been truly amazing! I always say that I would have been the last person in line for twins, but now I would be the first. They are such incredible boys and have brought so much joy to our lives! I can't believe they are already a year old! Happy Birthday to my awesome, wonderful, beautiful, handsome, cute, sweet baby boys!

CALEB!

Caleb, my sweet, sweet boy. You were so tiny and skinny when you were born. And now you have the best, fattest thighs and legs! You are so cute! I love your piercing blue eyes and your head of super blond hair! You are so relaxed and easy-going. We could give you a toy and you would be content to sit and play with it forever. That's why you never felt the need to crawl or move around. You didn't start to crawl until 10 months old! Now you are super-fast, but get where you need to be and are content. That's why the walking won't come for awhile! You are usually so calm and patient. You let your brother Gage push you over and grab your toys. You rarely protest. But when you do, we know it! You scrunch up your eyebrows and growl and shake your arms. We know you are mad, but it is so cute to watch! You love to talk and always have a lot to say! We love you so much! Happy Birthday!

GAGE!

Gage. You are my baby. From the moment you were born, I fell in love with your beautiful eyes and your beautiful eye lashes! We knew right from the start that you were going to be our "busy" boy. And you have proven us correct! You always have to know what's going on and be right in the center of the action. Because of this curiosity, you were the first to crawl, the first stand up and we're sure you will be the first to walk (you are SO close)! You also were the first to give up nursing. Too many things going on and too many things to see - you are easily distracted! But we can always see the gears in your head turning. You are constantly thinking, thinking, thinking. You amaze us with how smart you are. Your problem-solving abilities (for example - figuring out how to get out of the impenetrable fortress that is the living room) will cause grief for us these early years, but will serve you well in your life! We love you so much! Happy Birthday!

July Fun!

Vroom, vroom! Driving our cars! I love how Caleb is just hanging out, with his foot up on his dashboard!

Having so much fun in the tub!

July 11, 2011 was Brady and I's 14th wedding anniversary! So the whole family went up to Midway to have dinner at our favorite restaurant, Tarahumara. This is the only picture we got from our anniversary - Gage drinking some of daddy's water! But we got to sit outside on the patio and it was really nice!

We don't quite make it to the big pool everyday, so we bought a little pool for the backyard! They seem to have quite a bit of fun in it !

Being nuts in the pool!

Couldn't decide which picture to use...

And Gage is smiling in this one!

Here they are both happy! They LOVED their first outdoor BBQ in the backyard!

They are laughing at the fireworks and poppies that Gibson is doing!

Laughing at Big Brother!

Whatever Gibson is doing, he is always a source of amusement for these two! They just LOVE their big brother!

Yummy!

Gage sure likes lasagne!

Caleb having a great time!

Caleb thought this was great fun! I love the full-belly laugh!

Our escape artist!

We had the living room barricaded so the boys can't escape. But Gage has figured out a way to get out! I turn around and he's in the kitchen eating dog food! I couldn't figure out how he was getting out, but then I caught him in the act!

Gage Walking!!! (with his walker)

This was his 2nd attempt to "walk" with his walker. You should see him zooming around now. In just 5 minutes he went from hesitant to pro!

Easter 2011

We were hoping for a really warm Easter since it came at the end of April this year. It wasn't "super warm", but at least it didn't snow that weekend!

My parents had a fun Easter egg hunt for all the grandchildren at their house.
Carter, Paige, Brooke & Gibson
Gibson crawled around the yard with Paige on his back! I think he's excited for his brothers to get older so he can do more "rough" things like this with them!

Gage and Caleb had more fun with their Easter basket grass than with their Easter eggs & gifts!

I loved the looks on Caleb's face when he was eating the Easter grass - hilarious!

Easter morning:
Gage with one of his new books and his sand toys! (They're for Bear Lake and their sand box).

Gibson with his Easter gifts (the lighting was bad and my camera wasn't taking great pictures).

Misc Spring 2011

Here's just a few miscellaneous pictures from the past few months:
The other day, Gage was tired and he just crawled over to Caleb and layed over his legs. It was so cute! And Caleb sat there and hit Gage's bum with his hands!

Gibson's playing spring baseball (and soccer and golf...). This was the only game that the boys and I could go to. The weather's been so crappy that most of his games have been cancelled so far. Stupid weather.

Gibson made the most awesome Valentine's Day box for school! Brady and I helped him build the castles, but he drew (freehand) all of the dragons that decorated it (4 total).

Gibson lost one of his front teeth!

Gage fell asleep in my arms - what a beautiful sleeping baby boy!

Venturing outside in Spring

We've been able to get outside a little bit this spring, event though it's been really wet and cold.
This day happened to be in March, and it was one of the warmest days we've had so far! We all took a walk to Jimmy Johns, Sonic & Kneaders and then came home for some fun play time outside on the blanket!
This is the first time that Gage and Caleb got to ride in their new car buggies! They LOVE them! Right away, Gage starting turning the steering wheel and honking the horn. Caleb was content just to go along for the ride!
Even if it was cold, sometimes we just had to get out of the house! So they boys had to get all bundled up in their doggy hats and mittens!
Our "Twins Moms Club" had a multiple birth awareness walk at Sugarhouse Park in April. It was a lot of fun. I think there were about 35-40 sets of twins and triplets there! They had a breakfast and an Easter Egg hunt for the kids. Gibson scored with 58 eggs!

A trip to the Aquarium

I haven't posted for awhile, so we'll start with our trip to the aquarium! Gibson had his spring break the last week of March. I thought that was a dumb time to have it because the weather probably wouldn't be nice, but since the weather was crappy all of April, too, I guess it didn't matter!

But one day, our friends invited us to the aquarium. We hadn't been since Gibson was 2, so it was like a new experience for him, too. We had a lot of fun.
Gibson REFUSED to touch the sting rays!

Posing with the fish!
The boys absolutely LOVED the floor-to-ceiling fish tanks. They stared and smiled and laughed. I think they could have sat there for hours! Too bad they had to go home and have naps.

Gibson loved seeing the piranha.
