Puerto Vallarta November 2011 - Around Town!

Here are some pictures of us venturing into town. We were about 45 minutes away from downtown Puerto Vallarta, so we only made it there once. But we were super close (within walking distance) of the town of Bucerias. So we went there a few times.

Here we are on the walking path to Bucerias. Gage on daddy's shoulders and Caleb on Grandpa's shoulders - with grandma in the back taking a picture!
One day, my mom, dad, Gibson & I went to downtown Puerto Vallarta. It was at the beginning of our trip and the twins had had a difficult night sleeping, so Brady stayed at the resort with them. We're really glad they didn't go. Although the bus ride into town was only about 45 minutes, it took 2 hours to get home! They would have gone crazy on that bus!!!

Grandma, Grandpa & Gibson by the town's iconic cathedral.
Gibson and I by the huge banyan tree in the flea market. We did a lot of great shopping!
Grandma & Grandpa by the same banyan tree!
Brady and I have this secret little place we always like to go to in PV. It's back behind the flea market and it's a really nice, quiet area with free, clean restrooms! And the views of the hillside there are amazing! So I took my parents to our little spot.
My dad with the jungle hillside in the background.
Gibson standing on the bridge that goes over the town river.
My mom and I posing with dead skeleton brides???
What a delicious lunch we had. Gibson talked about it all week. In fact, he still talks about how they had the best catsup he's ever had! (I remember the tacos and guacamole! - and the nice, cool fan they set up next to our table!).
Enjoying our lunch next to the river!
The beautiful (if rocky) beaches along the Malecon in downtown Puerto Vallarta.
Gibson enjoying an ice cream cone!
I'm glad that Gibson slept for part of the 2 hour bus ride home!!!! (It takes so long because there are so many stops. If we had gone into downtown PV again, I would have taken a taxi home!).
So instead of taking Caleb and Gage to downtown PV, we just took them to Bucerias! It was a quick walk there and it's a really fun town. A great flea market and yummy oceanside restaurants!

All of us at "Michel Angelo's" in the town of Bucerias.
Here's Caleb eating his lunch.

After my parents left for home, we took the bus to the marina. There's a jewelry store there that we wanted to visit. However, since it's wasn't a cruise day, the jewelry store was closed. So we headed to the Gallerias Mall instead. Boy, were we in for a surprise! We got to visit Santa! What a great way to do our annual Santa visit! No line and we got to be in our summer clothes! I think we should make it a tradition!

On another visit into Bucerias, Gibson ran into his friend from our resort. Of course, everywhere Gibson goes he makes friends! This little boy (his name alludes me) just worshipped Gibson and loved playing with him in the pool! This was at the Mar y Sol restaurant. Hands down, the BEST salsa I've ever had.
On this particular visit to Bucerias, there was a CHURRO TRUCK!!!!!! This guy made churros right in front of you in the back of his truck. I think we bought 7 of them and he charged us 24 pesos - around $2. They were FRESH, HOT & DELICIOUS!!! What a treat!

Puerto Vallarta November 2011 - Miscellaneous

Here's a picture of Caleb and Gage at the airport. They're not too happy to be stuck in their stroller. But they were really, really good on the plane ride down to Mexico! Their first plane trip ever!
The day we arrived in Mexico was Gibson's 8th Birthday! His birthday was on 11-11-11!!!! How awesome is that? What better way to celebrate than to go to Mexico!

So we took a candle with us and put it in this tiny piece of cake they had at dinner! Happy Birthday, Gibson!

We had this "cupboard" in our hotel room - of course, it became the favorite place to play!

These are "Mexican Lemurs". They would hang around the taxi stand outside our hotel because the taxi drivers would feed them food. A nice driver gave Gibson some tortilla to share with them!
This was awesome! One night, at our resort, they released baby sea turtles. They let each child pick a sea turtle and place it on a sand. It was a race to get to the ocean! I took this picture with the flash on, and then they told us that you couldn't use a flash. So it was the best picture I got, even though it's fuzzy.
Brady and I at dinner one night. We ate our meals all outside on a balcony next to the ocean. It was AWESOME!!! Our room was also right above the restaurant, so we could put the babies to bed and bring the monitor down to dinner!!
My parents at dinner!
One night I ordered a "flaming coffee". It's a huge ritual that takes about 10 minutes for them to make. They do it right at your table and it definitely involves a LOT of flames! It also contains A LOT of alcohol - but it sure tastes delicious!!
A typical lunch. Eaten outside on the deck by the pool! Complete with plenty of fries, nachos, beer and smoothies!

My 3 awesome boys at bedtime!
Gage sound asleep! (I love it when you are somewhere where it is so hot that you sleep in just your underwear/diaper).
A BEAUTIFUL sunset seen from our balcony. We got to watch them every night.
Saying Goodbye to Grandma and Grandpa. Sad to see them go. :(

This picture about sums up the trip. So much fun during the day that Gibson would just crash at night!
We had a fabulous vacation! So much fun. The boys were awesome. The weather was perfect. The scenery beautiful. The beach and pool fun. And it was so much fun having Grandma and Grandpa there with us!

Finally - Snow!

We took advantage of the first real snow of the season and got all dressed up in the boys' new snow suits and went sledding over at Wheeler Farm!

Halloween 2011

I just realized that I forgot to post pictures from last Halloween! So here they are!

This year Caleb was a frog!
And Gage was a Tiger! Roar!
And Gibson was Captain Jack Sparrow (we got this authentic Pirates of the Caribbean costume for him in Las Vegas - so cool!). This is Gibson at his school Halloween Parade.

Caleb and Gage got to go Trick-or-Treating at Dad's work!

The big night! Caleb and Gage got to go around the block and show off their cute costumes to the neighbors!
Gibson came with us...
... along with his friends Zane and Wyatt!
(And then Gibson got to go out a lot longer with dad!). Happy (late) Halloween!
